Petroglyph group XI
Back to schemeThe group covers the area of 20 square meters. The petroglyphs’ condition is bad. Many of them can be hardly seen on the grey uneven rock surface. The group contains 70 engravings.
Scenes
Their motifs are quite diverse. There are 5 scenes, showing white whale sea boat hunting, and there is a scene showing two boat hunting. The images of boats carrying passengers are numerous. The boats have a standard outline. At the same time, there are two boat images which differ from the others. These images are considered to be quite rare. The boats are framed and have a kind of “windows”. Some images of boats of the same type are found at Old Zalavruga petroglyph sites. The group includes some examples of overlapped images or so called palimpsests as well.
